Vacation Planning: Things to Do in Greater Vancouver This Summer

The Summer is an amazing time of year to visit British Columbia, and it’s largest city Vancouver is brimming with a variety of things to do!

The Greater Vancouver area is a visitor-friendly location, and an efficient public transportation system allows for tourists to get around easily.

The hottest month in Vancouver is just a few weeks away, make sure you have a great plan on how to spend the sunny days with family and friends. Summer is tourist season in Canada, and it’s going to be a busy place, but you’ll have an unforgettably amazing experience if you know where to go!

Must-haves on the list: Vancouver Nature

If you are raising future naturalists and environmental scientists, or have a keen interest in the natural world yourself, you will surely have a blast spending a few hours at the Vancouver Aquarium.

The facility houses more than 50,000 sea life in their natural habitat. If you are also interested in plants and flowers and want to get a glimpse at the biodiversity Canada offers to the world, then pencil in the VanDusen Botanical Garden at the heart of the city, where more than 7,500 species of plants are thriving.

Create your own adventure: Vancouver Adventure

Some tourists are happy to just take a relaxing stroll around key holiday landmarks, while others are more adventurous and daring. If you are the latter, then Grouse Mountain should be on your list. It’s not too far from downtown Vancouver, and the mountaintop destination is one of the hottest tourists spots in the area.

If you want to experience more of the city from up high, but from a different perspective, you should book a spot at Vancouver Lookout, where the city is laid down at your feet. The Harbour Centre destination is located 130 metres from level ground.

For an even more exciting experience, we have one more destination that offers a view from above the ground—this time, a man-made structure hanging over the Capilano River. The swaying suspension bridge at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a marvel to behold. Find out what you can online about the Cliffwalk and Treetops Adventure while finalizing your itinerary.
