Trail Silver City Days – The Big Fun is Back in May 2017!
Canadians are known for being kind, inclusive, family-oriented and, most of all, fun. As spring takes hold at last for 2017, there’s an event in British Columbia that encompasses all of these great qualities: Trail Silver City Days!
If you’re needing to get out and about this spring, Trail is the jewel of the Kootenays and in May it will be the Fun Capital of BC. All of us in the Shooting Star family are super excited to kick off the 2017 carnival season by returning to Trail where we had an absolute blast only a year ago.
Trail Silver City Days 2017 will take place from May 10th to 14th and is gearing up to be the best yet. The theme this year is ‘A Homecoming Celebration’ and we’ll certainly feel like we’re coming home – bringing our midway with us!
Special Events
This true community event is all about the people that make Trail so great. There will be plenty of special events for bringing the community together. For starters, the annual Firefighters Parade will honour the brave souls of the Local 941. Then the town will celebrate the grand opening of the new Columbia River Skywalk with ‘An Evening Passeggiata’ (an evening stroll) with tons of fun along the way. Then on the Saturday night (May 13th), don’t miss the fireworks!
Sports and Fun for Kids
Each day there will be a dedicated KidZone filled with activities for children of all ages. Look for a special appearance by PT the Clown, along with Critter Day which will provide children with an in-depth look at the plants and animals that call Trail home.
To keep everyone active and smiling, there will be 3×3 Kids Street Hockey, the Bocce Classic, even a Pickleball tournament.
Midway Rides Games
Shooting Star is back in 2017 with our awesome midway. You’ll hardly need to look to see our huge rides, but just to be sure we’ll be located on Esplanade Avenue. Come play those classic carnival games and win prizes.
Wristbands for all-day riding are available for each day of the fair and will save you money. This is perfect for families!

What better way to give Mum an amazing treat for her special day and fill it with smiles and awesome memories?
Food, Food, and More Food
Culinary delights await you at every turn. Trail Silver City Days 2017 will feature an outstanding Food Fair each day along Spokane Street. Also, Friday May 12th will see the Colombo Lodge hosting its annual spaghetti feast and then on Saturday 13th you can watch performances in the Cominco Arena as you enjoy the Sidewalk Cafe.
PLUS… it’s impossible to imagine a BC fair or carnival fun without those famous mini-donuts. We’ll have all our food vendors in the thick of the midway action, offering delectable donuts fries, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, lemonade – YUM!
