Celebrate and Have Fun at the Dasmesh Gurdwara Vaisakhi Surrey Festival 2018
With 18 years in Surrey, BC, the 2018 Dasmesh Gurdwara Vaisakhi celebration and Khalsa Day Parade are not to be missed. Last year, more than 300,000 people attended this event of culture, celebration and beauty. This year could see an even bigger turnout. The Surrey festival is one of the largest outside India anywhere in the world.
Of course, Shooting Star Amusements will be there in Surrey with all the great midway rides, food and carnival games. Shooting Star has the lowest priced all day ride pass in all of BC in April! It’s our first event for 2016 and we’re pumped!
What is Vaisakhi?
Every April, millions of Sikhs the world over celebrate Vaisakhi Day as one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar. It’s the time of year when farmers reap their crops and celebrate the Sikh New Year.
Plus… over 300 years ago, the fraternity of Khalsa was created, marking the full initiation of Sikhs. Couple this with the New Year and Dasmesh Gurdwara Vaisakhi has become one of the biggest, best and most fun annual cultural events.
Here in Surrey, BC, we are lucky enough to have one of the biggest of these celebrations in the world. People will be gathering soon for an infectiously good time. Enjoy all the free food and treats along the parade route!
Where and When is the Action?
The awesome news is that it goes for 10 days! It all kicks off on Thursday April 14th at the Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar in Surrey. See here for address, map, and times when midway rides will be open.

To put it simply – fun! The organizers outdo themselves year after year. There will be miles and miles of smiles from happy people enjoying all the great attractions.
