Shooting Star Amusements

You bet we’ll be there. We wouldn’t miss this. We’re bringing our A-game with the Kamikaze and all new Tilt A Whirl Ride, along with a huge array of others. The kids and young-at-heart will be delighted by rides like the Merry-Go-Round, the Berry-Go-Round, the Space Train, the Ferris Wheel, even the Go-Gator Coaster.  Try out the New Kreepy Kastle if you dare.

Then test your skills and have a blast playing all the cool carnival games, followed by some great nosh. Mini-donuts, cotton candy, snow-cones, deep fried pickles, burgers, fries, lemonade… Is your mouth watering yet?

Get your wristbands to save time and a ton of money on rides. See here for details along with the midway’s hours. We’ve got some great specials and deals running.

More Attractions Than You Can Shake a Stick At

2015’s Bulkley Valley Exhibition is literally bursting at the seams with things to do. Check them out here and see the entire schedule of events for every venue here. There will be the traditional rodeo, the Trainer of the North Challenge for horse trainers, loggers’ contests, a petting zoo, dressage, show jumping, animals of all shapes and sizes, you name it.

You Want Entertainment? OK…

Bobby Wills will be there, live on the main stage on Friday! Don’t miss the chance to see this CCMA recognised country artist. And he’s not alone. Bobby will be joined by artists including The Racket, Mark Perry, Theresa Pasaluko, and Appaloosa all through the weekend.

Parade!

The annual Fall Fair Parade is a favourite with everyone. Mark your calendar for Wednesday August 26th at 7:00pm. It starts on Main Street at Alfred Avenue. Children under 12 get in free, ten bucks for everyone else. Honestly, it’s so worth it! It’s not just a parade; it’s also a competition. There will be prizes for Best Band, Best Horse-Drawn entrant, Best Tractor, Best Car or Truck (pre-1969 and pre-1989), Best Youth Organization, even Best Decorated Bicycle.

About Smithers

Smithers in Northwestern BC is halfway between Prince George and Prince Rupert and is unique to the area. Every downtown business has an alpine theme to its building, for starters. It has a great balance between forestry and environmental protection, and the Smithereens who live there are darn proud of their clean record. There’s so much great First Nations heritage, hiking, golf, mountain biking, arts, crafts, farming, and much more.

Meanwhile, the August weather will be great for the Bulkley Valley Exhibition and also for camping.

Places to Stay

Speaking of camping, you can camp at the Bulkley Valley Exhibition Fairgrounds. Otherwise, there are so many charming inns, motels, lodges, hotels, B&Bs and cabins. Enjoy the best of BC when you’re here.

So whether you’re young or old, shy or bold, there’s something for everyone at the 2015 Bulkley Valley Exhibition! See you soon!
