Shooting Star Amusements Ltd. (“Shooting Star”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. Shooting Star Amusements Ltd. is a Canadian, family-owned and operated mobile midway company based in British Columbia. We operate carnival rides, midway games, and entertainment events across British Columbia and other parts of Canada.

4. Third-Party Service Providers and Tracking Tools

We work with the following third-party providers. Each processes your data under their own privacy policies and, where applicable, under a Data Processing Agreement with us.

4.1 Email Delivery – Brevo (Sendinblue SAS)

We use Brevo to send transactional ticket confirmation emails and marketing communications. Brevo processes your name, email address, and email engagement data (opens, clicks) on EU-based server infrastructure (France/Germany/Belgium).

Data location: European Union. Comparable to Canadian PIPEDA protection standards.

4.2 Website Analytics – Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

We use Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC, USA) to collect anonymized data about how visitors interact with our website, including pages visited, session duration, traffic sources, and device types. Google Tag Manager is used to deploy and manage all tracking scripts on our website without modifying the underlying code.

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data. Information may be transferred to and stored on Google servers in the United States.

4.3 Facebook Pixel and Advertising – Meta Platforms

Our website uses the Facebook Pixel (operated by Meta Platforms Inc., USA), a piece of tracking code that allows us to:

  • Build Custom Audiences to show relevant ads to people who have visited our website

4.4 WooCommerce / Payment Processing

Ticket purchases are processed through WooCommerce (operated by Automattic Inc.) and our payment gateway provider. We do not store your credit card or banking details on our systems. Transaction records are retained for legal and tax compliance purposes.

4.5 Website Hosting – HostGator

Our website is hosted by HostGator (Endurance International Group, USA) on servers located in the United States. Standard web server logs including IP addresses and page requests are stored on these servers for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes.


5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies – small text files stored on your device – to enable core website functionality, remember your preferences, analyze website traffic, and deliver relevant advertising.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Booking and transaction records: 7 years (tax and legal compliance)
  • Marketing contact lists: Until you unsubscribe or consent expires (2 years from last transaction for implied consent)
  • Google Analytics data: Up to 26 months (per Google’s default retention settings)
  • Facebook Pixel data: Governed by Meta’s data retention policies
  • Website server logs: Up to 30 days

When personal information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.
