Entertainment Extravaganza From Start to Finish
Canada’s amazing Snowbirds and the Skyhawks Parachute Team will help kick off Peachfest’s events in grand style on Wednesday August 9th at Okanagan Lake Park with their awesome air show demonstrations. That will sure set the fun and excitement bar sky high! So will the Fresh BC Talent Quest, singers, entertainers and motocross leading up to the official opening ceremonies.
After that, each day is chock-full of activities and events. From pancake breakfasts to sandcastle competitions, from Peach Bin races to the Square Dance Festival, the variety of things to see and do is almost dizzying. There will be food vendors, crafts, and not just one, but two parades! You’ll see the crowning of Miss Penticton, the Sheila Bishop Memorial Wooden Bat Slo-Pitch Tournament, the PenTown Throwdown Skateboard and BMX competition, and much, much more!
Music, Music, and More Music
The festival kicks off with the iconic Canadian alternative rock band 54-40. Time to rock on!
Other entertainment on the main stage at Okanagan Lake Park includes Canadian legends Trooper of the “Raise a Little Hell” fame and country star Aaron Pritchett. There will be tributes to ABBA, Fleetwood Mac and Rod Stewart, and the Powder Blues Band will jazz it up on Sunday 13th.
Kids Take Center Stage
In addition to Kiddie’s Day and the Kiddie’s Parade on Sunday 13th, the Home Hardware Kids Zone will be serving up all the fun they can handle in Gyro Park, Wednesday through Friday. Your kids will never want to leave the Zone with activities like Lego tables, face painting, pony rides, and performances by ventriloquist Kellie Haines. All free!

The Penticton Peach Connection
Are you wondering why this event is called the Penticton “Peach” Festival? Peaches have been grown in the Okanagan Valley since the late 1800s and this festival started in 1947 as a celebration of the peach harvest. In fact, the Okanagan is the only region in BC where tree fruits grow in such huge abundance – peaches, apricots, apples, cherries, plums and pears. Sample all these delights at the many roadside stands around Penticton. They’re extra refreshing after you hike or cycle the area’s many scenic trails, take a stroll along Okanagan Beach, or enjoy the products of the numerous vineyards.
