Just 25km east of Vernon, nestled in the stunning Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, the friendly, family-oriented town of Lumby has an annual fair that’s renowned far and wide. It’s called Lumby Days.

To mark this awesome occasion of Canada turning 150, Lumby is pulling out all the stops. This year’s Lumby Days is chock-full of exciting events and family fun activities. Plus you’ll get a glimpse into the region’s amazing history.

Head to Glencaird Street and you’ll find everything you need.

Admission is FREE!

You read that right. It costs nothing to enter the Lumby Days parks and family festival!

Want to Laugh, Learn and Be Amazed?

When events range from the Monashee Arts Council Show for handcrafts through to Thrash Wrestling, it’s no lie to say Lumby Days has something for everyone.

For history and culture buffs, the Vernon Placer Mining Club’s show will take you back to the gold rush era that started the boom in western Canada. See gold panning demonstrations and try your hand at being a gold miner yourself. Meanwhile, the Shuswap Pioneer Collector’s club exhibition will display items used by BC’s early settlers. Logging is an important part of Lumby’s history and the Laughing Loggers will perform some hilarious lumberjack tricks that will have you in stitches.

If adventure is in your blood, the Valhalla Helicopters can show you the beauty of the Okanagan from high up. Then there’s the Lumby Air Races featuring hang gliders and paragliders from all over Canada. Plus there’s Extreme Freestyle Motorcross, which is one of the highlights of Lumby Days. You’ll be stunned watching the acrobatic stunts these fearless riders do.

Back By Popular Demand… Shooting Star’s Midway!

We are beyond thrilled to come back to Lumby and we’re bringing everyone’s favourite midway rides, games and entertainments to celebrate. We dearly love this town and its people.

The midway rides and games open on Friday June 9th at 3:00pm on Glencaird Street. You can print a coupon off our website to save $5 off for that day’s wristband. (A wristband will save you a ton of money and hassle as it entitles you to unlimited rides.)

Saturday and Sunday, you can ride from noon until 5:00. Ride wristbands are just $35 on these days.

By the way, there is nothing like a view of the Monashee Mountains from the Ferris Wheel. Just sayin.

Kids Will Be On Cloud Nine

Lumby Days is definitely a great event for children. Bring school groups, social clubs, sporting teams, you name it. There are so many activities planned especially for them:

  • Miniature Monster Petting Zoo. See momma llama and her baby, plus miniature donkeys, rabbits, ducks, and goats!
  • Kalamalka Caring Clowns
  • Face Painting with Krystal
  • Barrel of Fun
  • Car painting
  • Kids arts & crafts
  • Floppy Shot Mini Golf
  • And more!

The Centerpiece of Lumby Days: the PARADE

This is a huge hit at Lumby Days year after year! Families come from all over the Okanagan to thrill to the marching bands and the colourful floats.

Stake out your vantage point now! The parade starts on Saturday June 10th at 11:00am at the Industrial Park east of Lumby and makes its way along Vernon St (Highway 6), then right on Shuswap Ave, right on Maple Street, and finishes on Shields Ave by the Pat Duke Memorial Arena. The Vernon Flying team is scheduled to fly over before the parade starts, so you might want to get there early!

So Much More in Lumby!

Did you know that Lumby is world renowned as a premier destination for hang gliding, skydiving and paragliding? The town hosts national and international events for these sports. Plus, with more than 100 trails within walking distance from the town centre, Lumby is known as the Hiking Capital of Canada.
