Headliners – Hedley and Magic!

It’s truly an all Canadian party with the live music being led by local Abbotsford boys Hedley and Toronto-based Magic!  Here’s a link to the schedule of performers so you can be sure to catch your favourites.

And, man, can you ever be up close to the performers. Check out the photo in this article from the City of Surrey. Look how close to the stage you’ll be. You can even enjoy all the music while riding Shooting Star’s Ferris Wheel or other amazing rides.

And remember, admission to the Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre is FREE. So, you can enjoy this amazing line-up of acts for nothing!

Amusement Rides and Games

On July 1st, all the kids are fresh out of school for the year and itching to let their hair down. What could be better for that than laughing and thrilling to their favourite amusement rides and carnival games?

Remember to buy ticket books when you get there. The midway action opens at 10am and closes at 10:15pm. Be sure to use up your ride tickets before 10:15, because…

Fireworks!

The fireworks start at 10:30pm. Set up your chairs and blankets on the grass early for what promises to be a humdinger of a display. We have the inside word that the organizers are pulling out all the stops for this big 150th Canada Day extravaganza in Surrey.

There’s Something for All Ages

In addition to the rides, games, food, and music, there is the annual Strawberry Tea for seniors at the recreation centre. There will also be a Kids World zone presented by the Downtown Surrey BIA. Plus Canada-themed face painting, crafts, and more.

Getting There

The City of Surrey has provided this page that includes helpful information and links about transportation to and from the celebrations, as well as parking. We certainly recommend using transit to avoid parking hassles, if you can. But if you do drive, parking is FREE, so be early. Meanwhile, you can ride your bike as well, because there will be a designated bike lockup area provided.

By the way, the Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre is only a 15-minute drive from the Pacific Highway border crossing. So, we’d love to see many of our friends from Washington State make the trip to join in the 150th fun.
