School may have begun, but there are still some great carnivals and celebrations to be enjoyed. Fall is when the harvest is at its peak – the days are still sunny and warm without being too hot, the fall colours are incredible, and BC’s fall fairs are packed with great local foods and fun.

BC’s glorious carnival season still offers two opportunities for awesome family fun and to get your adrenaline fix on Shooting Star’s midway rides. Head to the 2015 Salmon Arm Fair and the 2015 Rock Creek Fall Fair.

Stunning Salmon Arm is only a few hours’ drive from Vancouver, so take a post-summer road trip. The Salmon Arm Fair runs from Friday September 11th through Sunday 13th. Set your GPS for 481 5th Ave SW and you’ll find multiple entrances surrounding the fairgrounds.

Shooting Star’s midway opens at 3:00pm Friday until 11:00pm, and then opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Entertain the kids, and yourself, with a huge variety of rides. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from the Berry Go Round to the Zipper. Take a chance at the midway games and try for a prize by popping balloons or shooting out the star.

Instead of paying for individual rides, get your wristbands in advance and save! You’ll save $10 – that means it’s just $25 for all-day riding – if you buy wristbands in advance from Askews stores in Salmon Arm before September 11th – but only while Akews has them!  All Day wristbands can be purchased on site at the Midway ticket booths for $35 per day.

Shuswap Idol and the Annual Parade

On top of the huge variety of live entertainment and scrumptious fresh-picked local produce, the Salmon Arm Fair Parade kicks off at 10:45am on Saturday September 12th. Check here for the map of where to be for all the fun.

Over all three days of this incredible BC fall fair, Shuswap Idol is open to all ages. Show off your talents or just have a blast cheering people on. Anything can – and will – happen. First place gets bragging rights plus 500 dollars!

During the fair, there will also be a huge range of live entertainment.

Rock Creek Fall Fair 2015

Yes, the fair is on! Be there! Saturday September 19th and Sunday September 20th.

With Rock Creek being hit so hard by devastating fires this year, the 2015 fall fair is so important for bringing smiles back to people’s faces and for supporting the entire community. The fairgrounds on Kettle River Road E were untouched by the fires and are ready for action.

Shooting Star Midway at the Rock Creek Fair

Our midway opens Saturday 11:00am to 9:30pm and Sunday 11:00am to 5:00pm. Wristbands save you tons of time and money on lineups and rides, so be sure to check out the value here.

500 Dollar Prize Bonanza and Much, Much More

Enter one exhibit and be in the running to win $500!

Get down to this true country fair for all the best arena events, livestock competitions, arts and crafts. While you chow down on BC’s best harvest produce – and mini-donuts, candy floss and corndogs – enjoy incredible performances by singers, bands, dancers, clowns and a BMX team.

So, you can see the fair season is far from over. BC’s best fall fairs are ready to rock. See you there!
